RAG means giving AI your own documents so it answers from them, not from guesswork. It finds the relevant passages first, then writes the answer and shows you where it came from — so you get reliable, source-backed replies instead of confident-sounding made-up ones.

RAG stands for "retrieval-augmented generation". Skip the jargon and it means one thing: let the AI read your documents first, then answer.

How it works, in three steps

- The AI finds the relevant part — when you ask, it searches your documents for the passages that matter.
- It answers with the source — you get a plain-language answer and a link to the exact document and page.
Why it matters
Two things change. First, the answers are about *your* business, not the internet's average. Second, you can check them — every answer shows where it came from, so you're never trusting a black box.
